I am trying to migrate to my own WordPress blog...

Blogger is quite nice, however, it is not able to give you as many features as WordPress. Especially WordPress hosted on your own hosting account.

Enlarge the photo and look at the 'vehicle' parked there... :)

I have started this blog here, but now I see I should migrate to my own domain, here it is:

Clever Saving - money saving tips

you will be able to see my WordPress efforts there :)

Your own energy, isotonic, etc. drink for your training.

Rushing from my office to the local gym I often do not have time for anything but buying a ready-made drink in a nearby shop, however...

Garden on a windowsill #2. Effects.

Do you remember my windowsill garden mentioned a few posts before? It is family fun, it saves some money (especially in case of expensive lemon balm) but it also gives a nice addition to your diet.

Here you can see my dish with some fresh green herbs improving the taste, making it look better and just making it more healthy.

What can you see apart from green herbs? Traditional Polish dumplings along with "maca" bread, however baked in a Polish manner with the use of wholemeal flour. Poured with premium quality Polish linum oil. The great thing for a Polish "facet"... ;-)

Collecting and using rainwater at home.

My colleague, an author from Poland, Pyzolinda had serious problems with water supply in her place of living. Finally she decided to buy three tanks for rainwater and install them in her cellar.

This water is used for flushing toilets, washing and bathing and does not cause any problems which sometimes happen when using rain water at home (Diarrhea, etc.) . Perhaps this is the explanation, nice and clean mountain region:

However drinking water is collected separately in a fourth tank. Drinking water comes from a deep well, which is not very efficient, but gives enough water for my colleague's needs.

Did I mention that this water is completely free?

Recycling / reusing already printed office paper.

I've mentioned before that I use already printed paper again. This is not only the matter of saving a few coppers with every used A4 sheet, this it the matter of recycling / reusing paper which is not very natural. Producing perfectly white office paper is not good for the environment, a lot of chloride is used, polluting air, etc.

Above you can see the first phase of work, reviewing and selecting those sheets which can be reused.

This is not particularly time consuming or tiring, in fact, I consider it some kind of relax. You can see the sheets in the photo, however, you can't hear the music :)

Finally I put selected sheets in my laser printer, of course as a famous Polish author, I do not pay for printing :) my advertising partners do that :)

Sun, good mood and eco-printing :)

I play cat and mouse with Polish Police!

I try to be an honest driver, I do not speed unless it's necessary, however, in Poland the road police isn't helpful. For us they often act as robbers collecting forced tribute for the government collecting money wherever possible. At least in our industrial region of Poland - namely Copper Basin (Zagłębie Miedziowe) we do not like the government, we do not like the prime minister and we do not like paying our heavy earned money to the unpopular government in Warsaw.

The 'hero' of a lot of my posts in the Polish blogging world is....

...the CB-radio!

Like in these old CB-radio movies.... we often have that in our trucks and cars (including many private cars)!

Cleaning my car mats

It's April 1st, and we in Poland have snow outside, quite weird... and people complain about it. Well, you cannot do anything about it, but you can use it for your own convenience.

I chose to clean my car mats using snow.

Can you see the dirt left behind?

No chemicals, no detergents, just fresh pure snow. Saving money, saving time (by doing it at home, not in a car wash). I like to have the job done. :-)

Key factor disturbing effective functioning of a barter system.

Barter systems are now well known in crisis-affected countries. However, barter systems do not always work well....

Beautiful Russian horses.

My blogging does not only include writing about money. There a lot of things I am interested in and I would like to recommend. Below you can see beautiful horses photographed during Jacek's (Polish blogger and journalist) trip to Russia a few years ago.

My famous piggy-bank.

Here you can see my famous moneybox. I collect all my coppers and coins from my bulging wallet. It makes my life easier and it makes my money-saving comfortable.

I can 'utilize' all the collected coins in a supermarket at the automated cash point or in some shops where they are willing to take coppers.

There are political plans in Poland to withdraw coppers, as they do not represent a significant value and 'cause' problems to banks.

I don't mind keeping them. I prefer 'real' money to plastic.

Cutting tubes.

As I have written many times before I am convinced that manufacturers create product packaging and tubes in a way that makes it impossible for us to use everything. Clever? Perhaps, but I don't like it... so I often cut tubes.

Believe or not, but in the "empty" tube shown above there still was enough mustard for a nice single meal. Here the "money saving" tip will not bring you significant benefits, but imagine that you can do that with expensive cosmetics.

Nice idea, isn't it?

Windowsill mini-garden.

I've reused the old pot with lemon balm roots (Melissa officinalis), cardamine seeds and I've put an onion inside. An onion with leaves becomes bitter, however leaves alone are quite tasty.

Why not? Lemon balm is not cheap, trying to revive it saves money :) The rest of herbs have been planted just for fun (and good sandwiches, finally).

Quite often we have two or three windowsill gardens, usually with some fresh herbs.

Planning my holidays.

The shot from the castle in Palma.
I love this city!

I would like to spend next holiday at the Baltic sea (in fact I am even considering buying a flat at the Baltic sea) however my wife wants Spain. She's right as the weather is more predictable, prices are about the same. We have chosen Alcudia in Spain, Majorca (relatively easy to get there as we live quite close to the Dresden airport with nice connections).

Once I have spent my winter holidays nearby, but I do not quite like a temperature set in the Mediterranean in summer. Winter in Spain is OK for me, summer, hmm... We'll think about it.

Hello World!

My name is Remigiusz (shorter form: Remi, however pronounced Remy or Rémy) and I am an author from Poland.

Here I am going to translate as much as possible from my popular Polish blog.

My Polish guests - please speak English if possible!!!
